Healthy Living Application

Living a healthy and fulfilling life can be a challenge as lifestyles change and the pressures of work take over. Keeping to busy schedules can impact on the time we give to exercise and the food we eat, meaning society becomes more convenience driven. More stress, less exercise and a less healthy diet combined impact play a significant role in reducing our quality of life.

The impact of technology in the workplace has resulted in people being ‘always on’, with the line between work and personal time becoming blurred. As we spend more time on using computers and smartphones, we can easily forget to prioritise our health. Meaningful innovations can enhance health and well-being and Sasakorn Liewsangan came up with an idea to integrate both health and technology into our lives by way of an app that could alert us of health issues as we go about our daily business.

Based on this idea, the Philips project team will collaborate with other stakeholders over the coming months to define the most effective content that can be included on the app to ensure user’s will receive timely and effective advice about their lifestyle. This could be from telling us to take a break from out PCs, to reminding us of when we should arrange a doctor’s appointment or when we should exercise. The app will help monitor our daily routines and provide some of the basic healthcare tips we sometimes forget due to keeping up with our busy schedules. The app will be available to download and can be used to give people timely reminders that promote healthier living habits.
